At least the establishment Republicans are doing us all a favor by clearly demonstrating who they are and what they are about. They are not even pretending otherwise any more. I remain a member of the party only to exercise my opportunity to tear it down from within. I am confident that I am not the only one.
Universal suffrage is a guarantee of the intellectual, moral, and economic decay of the civilization that embraces it. Tocqueville described it as being not only “the worst element of government”, but also a “powerful revolutionary instrument. We may be witnessing the end game now.
Where could you find, or how could we expect to find, a politician stating that liberty and universal voting are antithetical when we see a Rand Paul publicly approve of the Democrat crossover vote to subvert a Republican primary?
I say from experience that the average citizen, employed and with no criminal record, regards the idea of ending universal suffrage as radical, and there is no telling them that it is the very thing they are defending which is radical.
