There, I said it. I hope this selfish c— a—— gets Ebola and dies a nasty paper cut that gets infected.
Health officials said Tuesday they’re prepared to legally enforce the state’s “voluntary” quarantine on health care workers who’ve treated Ebola patients.
Department of Health and Human Services Commissioner Mary Mayhew declined during a news conference to comment specifically on the case of nurse Kaci Hickox, who was confined against her will at a New Jersey hospital before traveling home to Maine. But Mayhew said her department and the attorney general’s office were prepared to take legal steps to enforce a quarantine if someone declines to cooperate.
“We do not want to have to legally enforce in-home quarantine,” she said. “We’re confident that selfless health workers who were brave enough to care for Ebola patients in a foreign country will be willing to take reasonable steps to protect residents of their own country. However we are willing to pursue legal authority if necessary to ensure risk is minimized for Mainers.”
Hickox’s lawyer insisted Tuesday that she was not under quarantine and said she was seeking time to decompress at an undisclosed location in Maine. Steven Hyman of the New York law firm McLaughlin & Stern told the Bangor Daily News that Hickox will not comply with Maine’s requirements to remain under quarantine for 21 days.
“She doesn’t want to agree to continue to be confined to a residence beyond the two days,” Hyman told the Daily news.
Hickox’s other attorney, New York civil rights lawyer Norman Siegel, called Maine’s quarantine “unconstitutional.”
“The conditions that the state of Maine is now requiring Kaci to comply with are unconstitutional and illegal and there is no justification for the state of Maine to infringe on her liberty,” Siegel explained to the Daily News.
Here’s what should happen with this attention whore. The State Department should scoop her up, put her on a plane back to Liberia and notify her that she can return only after she agrees to quarantine. That quarantine will take place at Guantanamo Bay.
I’m no fan of government, but this is the one area where we don’t mess around. If this self-absorbed cunt want to play Florence Nightingale, that’s her business. If she wants to bring back a deadly virus, that’s our business.
This health care worker should know better than most the devastating effects of this dreaded virus. Having ministered to the dead and dying, she knows or should know that almost no precaution is too extreme in preventing furtherance of this plague. Her selfish attitude, along with the callous indifference of the N.Y. doctor who went bowling after being exposed to the virus, gives me pause about the integrity of health care workers in our medical system. I hope these two are isolated examples but I fear they are not.
Consider that she just may be a tool of Doctors Without Borders et al teaming with the Obama administration to stop current, and prevent additional quarantining so as to [pick your favorite reason]. She’s been outed as a CDC employee with no known nursing experience in the Comments section of the linked article.
Doctors without Borders wouldn’t hire her, so she applied at the CDC. Honestly, the whole quarantine thing was hashed out during the Spanish Flu outbreak. I’m sure there are all sorts of legal precedents now. And all they have to tell the judge is that the doctor in NY lied about self monitoring and self quarantining. He didn’t have a fever either and he does have Ebola
I fail to see how she deserves the C word. I think a$$hole would suffice. Furthermore, why the crudeness? It certainly does not add to the conversation in any way. Vituperous attacks only contribute to the downward bound trend of discourse in this country. Perhaps we should all try to elevate?
I do consider “Giant Doo-Doo Head” an elevation. My boys, when they were younger, were very fond of this particular insult.
