Ha! by happy coincidence the 17 year old me can be seen bopping merrily away in front of johhny for much of this concert vid,sleeping on a icy bench in london waiting to return to Liverpool the next day was not too much of a price to pay….ah youth….cheers anyway.

The CBGB was a real shit hole. But, it produced a lot of good acts. I feel bad for the young people of today as they don’t seem to have these places.

I often wonder how the instrument stores remain in business. When I was a kid, everyone played something. School required it through grammar school. I played the trumpet for six years, despite hating the trumpet. My parents went for the cheapest and most portable choice. Walking to school carrying your instrument was what everyone did. Today, I rarely see kids carrying an instrument. It is always East Asians with violin or flute cases. Do boys play guitar anymore?
Modern music is most made by machines and I would assume that trend continues. That leaves no reason for clubs where young acts can learn to play and perform. Instead, young “artists” work in studios figuring out how to make autotune work. From what I can tell, pop music is just mulattoes chanting gibberish now anyway. The females talk about how their “man” and the males talk about “their life on the street” or their penis.
Ever had bad run ins with the ghetto natives, any black brunch situations?
My sense is the black brunch thing can only work in hyper-white upper-middle class areas. These “protesters” appear to target places where they will get no resistance. Try it in a downscale area and someone is likely to throw a punch or worse. Racially mixed areas have no illusions about race relations. People tend to self-segregate more strongly, avoiding anything that could cause friction between groups.
It’s why that even the hardest thumping ghetto bangers will commit all their crimes against and with their own race. Some drug flow will happen between the races, but it is limited. They will trade women, but that flow is always fat white girls taking up with black guys. Spanish women stay home and no one wants black women.
