Happy Thanksgiving

This the best holiday of the year. Four day weekend. Food and football. No gift giving. No religious stuff. I’m not religious, but very much in favor Christianity. I just hate hearing the fruitcakes bitch about Christianity so a holiday with no religious angles is great. Put it all together and you have a great holiday. The pleasant surprise this year is the temps are down in the 20’s and 30’s across the country. I like winter, but I love watching the global warming cult panic when it snows in November. This should be sent to every global warming freak today:

Otherwise, enjoy the day!

  1. Hey there Z

I’ve enjoyed your posts at MR, and am happy to see you have a blog. I find I agree with you on most things and learn from what you post — the only caveat concerns environmentalism and conservative thought. I’m a big fan of Roger Scruton. He stakes out a novel and convincing position on the two in his book How to Think Seriously about the Planet. I think you might enjoy reading one of Britain’s premier conservative thinkers and philosophers.

    • I must confess I am not terribly familiar with Scruton other than what I recall from the Spectator. I put his book you recommend on my list and I will give it a read. Thanks!

  2. I would also recommend his fairy recent book The West and the Rest, his book on politics, governance, and the Islamic world (and how it differs from the West). And if you harbour serious doubts about the contributions to modern thought of the academic left, you will enjoy his Thinkers of the New Left, written when he was younger and at his most acerbic and polemical.
