Radio Derb August 23 2024

Going forward John will be posting the transcript of his show on the day of the show, rather than the following Wednesday. The link for that is here. At some point I will post it here, but that requires transforming it from his web page to text that will render properly here and that takes some noodling. The software for this platform is not accommodating when it comes to that sort of thing.

I thought about using the speech to text tools available everywhere now, but the results are often quite hilarious. I used myself as a test and the results looked like something you would see in Japan, a country known for hilariously bad translations from Japanese to English, so that is not an option. For now, just follow the link to John’s page and you can get the transcript there.

An Election Reset

Now that the Democrat circus is over, it is time to take a look at where things stand for the election show. Regime toadies are just now waking up in a pool of their own vomit after having partied hard for the last month in what will be remembered as the greatest gaslighting campaign in American history. It really has been an incredible month of unrelenting bullshit from the regime.

In fact, I was tempted to call the show “Peak Bullshit”, but you have to be careful using naughty words in these things. It is the right title. The bullshit being sold to us is that this boozy dingbat is the greatest candidate since Lincoln. In reality, she is closer to Gerald Ford, who found himself leading his party after it managed to blow itself to pieces in the Watergate coup that toppled Nixon.

It is the quintessential internet campaign thus far. Internet gaslighting follows a predictable pattern. First a truckload of bullshit is dumped on the internet by the regime media, which is followed by “influencers” taking long deep breaths from the steaming pile of bullshit, while telling us they predicted it. After this crowd runs out of hot takes, the truth starts to creep into the conversation.

This week the “influencers” started to run out of things to say and began looking around for the next trend to front run. That new trend will be the reality that faces the regime as they try to drag the Boozy – Fudd ticket over the finish line in every state they have to win order to win the election. That list of states may turn out to be bigger than all the so-called experts have been predicting.

Radio Derb August 16 2024

For those wondering about the transcript, it is located on Derb’s site. I could probably post it here, but I will have to check with Derb. He may want to have people come to his site for the written version. There are free transcription services I could use to put the transcript in the Rumble and Odysee version. I have not used them, but it might be a fun thing to play around with at some point.

Some have asked if this is the start of hosting the work of others and the answer to that is maybe, possibly, we shall see. The new version of this site that creeps toward reality will have the ability to create spaces for others to post their work. A dissident collective like the Daily Kos model could be a good idea or could be a terrible idea, so I am thinking it through very slowly.

Profile & Reality

The great gaslighting operation called the Harris campaign is just the latest in this evolution of the public space away from practical reality toward a virtual reality that operates by a new set of rules. The old public space which was constrained by observable facts and agreed upon ends is giving way to a new public space that is controlled by narratives and characters.

This interview of Mike Cernovich by Tucker Carlson is a good example of how the public space has changed. Ten years ago, people would have roared with laughter at the suggestion that Cerno would warrant national attention. He was nothing more than a weird internet character. Of course, Tucker Carlson was not “Tucker” at the time either and no one imagined such a thing was possible.

The character that is now “Tucker” did not ask “Cernovich” about the many past characters he has played online. There were no questions about when Cerno was playing a transvestite-curious man in Southeast Asia. His time as various types of gurus never came up in the conversation. “Tucker” was happy to interview the character “Cernovich” that exists at this moment.

What we see happening is that people are now going back into Plato’s cave, demanding to be strapped to the rocks, so they can enjoy the life of the shadows, but play some part in creating the shadows. Public life is becoming an interactive fictional drama that is disconnected from tangible reality. It is not just a distraction from the reality of life but supplanting that reality.

That is the show this week. Before you strap in, you may want to double up on the brain oil as there are some big brain topics in the show. The links below are worth the time as the philosopher I reference does a good job explaining his take on this subject. He has coined the term “prolificity”, which I like, but I am not entirely sure if it captures the full nature of what is happening to the West.

Gang Land

Perhaps it is just a normal part of reaching geezerhood, but I am often surprised at how much has changed in my lifetime. I have often said that the past is a foreign country, but it does not seem like it was that long ago when it was normal. You see this with the things that used to be called vices. Gambling, pornography, drugs, and prostitution used to be things to avoid, but now they are celebrated lifestyles.

This came to mind while viewing a clip from one of the gangster shows where the principals were discussing their revenue streams. Just about every way the old gangsters made money has now been taken over by the state or by corporations, who are friends of the state. To a great degree, the decline of the mafia is due to them being muscled out by the government and its corporate pals.

That is the show this week. As a break from politics, I thought it would be fun to run through the various ways the old mobsters earned money and see who controls those rackets in this age. The only racket that is not run by government or corporations is prostitution, but that is debatable. Things like OnlyFans are a very small step removed from prostitution. How long before they take the next step?

Lessons From VDare

The show is a bit rambling today as I was pressed for time due to the day job, but the topic is a good one. Failure is always a better teacher than success, so the failure of VDare has some good lessons for us. I say failure in that it lost the fight with the oogily-googily people in the state of New York. It had a twenty-five-year run and helped make immigration a central issue.

Probably the most important lesson to come out of the VDare story is that the old America that operated by rules is gone. If you want to join the fight, the first thing you need to understand is we no longer live in a rules-based society. The bad guys talk about the rules, but that is because they change the rules to fit their needs. They want you to follow their rules, while they do what they want.

That is probably the biggest psychological barrier for people. You see it with the young guys who think they are the forefront of radical. In reality they are Zoomer-Boomers, young guys who think they can roll back the clock to the time when the people they criticize were their age. They still think they can vote their way out of this mess and back to the old America of their grandparents.

That America is gone and it is never coming back. You see that with VDare. The people who lawfared them out of existence had no place in old America, other than sweeping floors, but in new America they set the rules. Once you reach the point where such people have access to power, the rules-based society is finished. In fact, society is finished and waiting for the death blow.

Forgotten Fakery

I was unsure what to do for a show this week. The nonstop firehose of craziness from the political class has fried my brain a bit. That and the events of the last week have broken the gauge on my clown meter. The absurdity of the Kamala Harris campaign on the heels of Nursing Home Joe getting bumped off in a midnight coup highlights the utter fakeness of our politics.

Instead of trying to make any sense of it, I just turned the mic on and started talking for an hour in a drug fueled stream of consciousness. Okay, there were no drugs involved, even though drugs would make it easier to follow the election. Instead, I meandered around from one topic to another, all revolving around the fact that our politics have been fake and gay for a long time.

In fact, I was going to call the show “Fake & Gay” but that ran into problems with the platforms I post this to, so I went with something less salty. That is, however, the prevailing sentiment of the show. It is not just that things are fake now, but they have been fake for a long time. What we are seeing now is the approach to peak fakeness, which most likely comes just before collapse.

That said, whenever we think we have reach to limit of absurdity in our politics, our rulers find another gear. That seems to be true with the fakery. Obama seemed like the ultimate model of the banal, superficial politician. Now here we have Harris who is nothing but a cackle and pantsuit. She is the DEI version of Hilary, which means a cheap replica of the real thing, but in brown.

Decades In Weeks

Lenin famously said there are decades in which nothing happens and then there are weeks in which decades happen. That is the inspiration for the show title and the show itself, which is a rundown of the events of the last few weeks. Any of these events would probably qualify as a big deal in isolation, especially the curious assassination attempt on Trump last week.

The last few weeks culminating in one of the wildest conventions in a long time has been an incredible ride, but we are just getting started. The years long effort to keep Trump off that convention stage is not the end of it. It is just the beginning of what lies ahead as the regime never takes no for an answer. The ball is now back in their court, so the next few weeks will make this last month seem normal.

The next chapter in this wild summer probably kicks off this weekend with a renewed effort to push Biden aside. The fake news stories about his imminent resignation were flying last night. It would take a heart of stone to not laugh at the sight of regime members getting the fake news treatment. Every story about Biden that contains “sources say” must cut like a knife.

The thing to think about as we close the books on this chapter is that none of the things that happened were predicted. Even the most optimistic did not see the collapse of the court cases, for example. Even the most dramatic did not imagine the events at that Trump rally where he got the Van Gogh treatment. That means what comes next most likely lies well outside our imagination. It is going to be wild.

The Borg

I decided to call this show The Borg, after the fictional entity in the Star Trek universe, but I could have gone with Self-Licking Ice Cream Cone. The thing that this show describes is a self-perpetuating system. The purpose of Conservative Inc., and all nodes of the managerial ecosystem, is to maintain itself by defending itself from outside threats through assimilation and subversion.

The trouble with the self-licking ice cream cone idea is that it suggests the self-perpetuating system is benign. The United Nations, for example, is not actively trying to change much of anything. The damage it does is incidental to its existence, in the same way the damage done by the postal service is just the result of it not being particularly good at delivering letters and packages.

The Borg concept, on the other hand, is an aggressive entity. It sustains itself by seeking out and assimilating new life forms. The process by which it sustains itself is a constant danger to everything around it. Cancer, for example, destroys its host by replacing good cells with cancer cells. The death of the host is not incidental to the existence of cancer, but the end point of it.

This is true of managerialism in general and specifically true with regards to anything resembling an American right and Conservative Inc. The conservative ecosystem that forms up one part of the political class exists to absorb, assimilate, and subvert anything viewed as a threat along its assigned place on the wall. Since its purpose is to do those things, it has evolved to find causes and people to assimilate.

The minor controversy over Project 2025, a scheme hatched by The Heritage Foundation, is a good example, one used in the show this week. Its purpose is to assimilate what it can use from the populist uprising led by Trump, subvert his efforts, and snuff out anything that cannot be assimilated or subverted. Heritage is the Borg queen of the hive mind that is the conservative industrial complex.

Micro Topics

The show was assembled before the debate, which is a good thing because I would never have been to record anything after watching that lunacy. I think I may have blown a funny fuse laughing at it. The only thing Biden did not do last night was drop his pants and then wander off the stage. It did not top the John Fetterman performance, but it was still a ridiculous and embarrassing spectacle.

Frankly, I felt shame watching it, so I turned it off after thirty minutes. I do not care if Joe Biden is a monster who is run by monsters. It goes against my code as a man to enjoy the suffering of others in this way. He is an old man who should be waiting for the sweet relief of death right now, not paraded around like this. The people humiliating this man by parading him around should be shot.

That said, the game is afoot. There is simply no way they can let him continue, so they have to find a replacement before the convention. That first means either having the talk with him that many people have to have with an old person in their life. If that fails, then it means invoking the 25th Amendment and having him removed or maybe finding some loophole in the party rules to remove him from the ticket.

The sad spectacle should disabuse everyone about who really runs things. There is simply no way this shuffling husk of man is making any decisions. In this regard, Biden has become the epitome of neocon dominance. They found the ultimate puppet to execute their devious plot to bring the world to the brink of disaster. Maybe it is time to address that problem while addressing the Biden problem.
