Various Stuff

Another week is in the books and we are a little closer to what is shaping up to a summer of madness. If you have been paying attention to the Chauvin trial, you will see that we are headed to a very bad place. The state’s case so far boils down to “He may have not paid careful attention in a safety class years ago, so he is guilty.” They have not even tried to address the key questions of the case. In a first world country, this trial would not exist. The court would not allow it.

If you read the summaries of the trial, you cannot help but wonder if both sides are trying to throw the case. The state called one witnesses that was so bad for their case, the defense added her to their witness list. Another witness had to admit that the cops probably should have been rougher with Saint George. Unless you are there every day, it is hard to get a read on these things, but it looks as if the state is not even trying to give the jury a reason to convict this guy of anything.

The defense has not been stellar either. At this stage they are limited to cross examination, so we will see when it is their turn to put on a show. So far, they seem to be happy to let the state’s witnesses do their best to undermine the state’s case. Given the levels of corruption in modern America, you have to wonder if the defense has not been told to throw the case. In a banana republic like America, in the halls of justice, the only justice is in the halls. The fix is always in.

Again, it is hard to judge these things from a distance. The O. J. Simpson trial is the obvious parallel. A blind man could see that Simpson was guilty, but the defense was allowed to turn the trial into a racial circus. For the jury, it stopped being about facts and law and became a weird sort of beauty pageant. They picked a winner based on how it made them feel at the moment. This jury could have made up its mind in advance and they not paying any attention to any of this.

The thing that may save Chauvin is the jury does not have many whites on it and has quite a few black women. For starters, this is Minnesota, so the white people there are thoroughly and completed cucked. If this were an all-white jury, they would be arriving to court with shirts reading “we’re so sorry.” The black women know all about guys like Saint George Floyd. If the state cannot make him look like their son, instead of their son’s ne’er-do-well father, the state has a problem.

Like people, societies make their own luck. This is a terrible case to use for a remake of To Kill A Mockingbird. Floyd is not a sympathetic character. The world is better place without him. On the other hand, Chauvin is not a good guy either. The cops everywhere are out of control and people are increasingly sick of it. The prosecutors are incompetent, and the defense thus far is not much better. The way to bet here is the jury will turn out to be just as bad as everything else with this case.

Sermon On The Net

This being Good Friday, I thought a show about Christianity and the dissident right would be a good topic. I was torn on how I wanted to do it, so it did not come out as well as I hoped. I had a few ideas on how to approach the subject, but I could not settle on one, so I ended up coming at it from a few different angles. In retrospect, I should have mulled it over a bit longer to get my thoughts in order. On the other hand, it means I can revisit the topic at some point in the future.

One of the odd things about dissident politics is that our side of the great divide has different tribes that probably would not find common cause if not for having been driven off the public stage. Thirty years ago, the “secular right” was not all that fond of the religious right. They even setup a site for themselves as a refuge from those Bible-wielding conservatives. It looks like they ran out of steam a couple of years ago, which is fitting given the circumstances of the moment.

It seems like there is an opportunity for the two main wings of the dissident right to find common cause again. If you look at the main players in the new free speech movement, for example, they tend to be men of faith. The American First crowd is very proudly Christian, even though they do not get into the details of what that means. On the other hand, the authority of the secular wing is rooted in biological reality. The quantifiable differences in people are the starting point for many dissidents.

In the before times, the secular wing always chaffed at the rhetoric of Christian conservatives, mostly out of ignorance. People drawn to secular politics tend not to be comfortable with the topics in religion. Today, Christians tend to be uncomfortable with the langue of most dissidents. Talk of evolution is alienating to them, because they have been conditioned to view it as an enemy of their faith. Our side of the great divide is an uneasy alliance of people who do not entirely trust one another.

That is the main point of the show this week. Secular people need to get more comfortable talking about religion, but dissident Christians need to reexamine their hostility to certain dissident topics. The fact is a large majority of white people consider themselves Christians. On the other hand, a large majority of dissidents long for a return to tradition. There is no reason why religion should not be an integral part of dissident politics, even if many dissidents are not religious.

The Carny Train

I am torn on whether this age should be called the Carny Age, the Crazy Age, or the Age of Hysteria. I like all three and there are probably others that work, but the last one really gets to the heart of the matter. America is like an aging woman, suddenly realizing that her biological clock is running out of ticks. All of that phony confidence she learned from modern feminism is quickly turning into anger and bitterness. Much of the lunacy is driven by early and middle middle-aged women.

Here is a perfect example. This story is written by a middle-aged Indian woman attacking one of the schools in the big basketball tournament. The whole point of the story is so the aging mediocrity can get some attention. Look at her resume and you see that her “I am woman here me roar” life choices did not work out as the lesbians in the woman’s studies department promised. Mx. Jhaveri has never reached higher than an entry level position at small media outfits.

Time after time, what has been termed cancel culture, turns out to be projectile hysteria by early middle aged women. The Huffington Post is nothing but a coven of homely women in terror over hitting the wall. It is why they foment so much of the doxing and cancel culture nonsense. Popular culture is one long night of premium ice cream, Lifetime channel marathons and late night texting. Our women have gone insane and taken the rest of the country with them.

That is why Age of Hysteria seems to work the best. It also implies that the solution is something like this. On the other hand, the underlying cause of this is the carny morality that has taken over the ruling classes. None of our betters has anything resembling dignity now, not even the British royals. That current batch looks like extras from one of those game shows where contestants agree to do humiliating things in order to win some cash prizes. The prize today is an Oprah interview.

Everywhere you look in the ruling classes, the people who should be secure in their position are desperately shouting, “Look at me! look at me!” Despite their wealth and power, they carry on like they need affirmation. That is the carny culture. The engine that drives that sort of society is the willingness to do anything for some applause, some attention, or some laughs. Whatever it takes to get the crowd to perk up and take notice of you is acceptable. There is no bad publicity.

As I said in the show, people living in a period rarely know how it will be viewed from the distance of time. Given the current trajectory, the Zoomers could look back on this time in a generation and call it the Golden Age. How this time is viewed will depend a lot upon how the current crisis concludes. People in the 1970’s thought they were doomed, but then things turned around for a couple of decades. Maybe that is what awaits us in the coming years. A period of relative calm and good fortune.

Rambling Man Vol 3

Note: I will be on with Patrick Casey tonight at 7:00 PM. The topics will be 1) the importance of the kids staying off my lawn, b) why my generation’s music is better than the current crap and iii) why we used to wear an onion on our belt. You can click this link to listen, but you need an account to ask questions in the chat.

The last segment of the show this week is mostly about this clip featuring Andrew Sullivan and Christopher Caldwell. Someone on Gab sent it to me, suggesting they are starting to stumble into the Cloud people – Dirt People thing. Listening to the two of them, I felt like I was eavesdropping on a conversation among aliens. I was struck by their solipsism and lack of imagination. They both know there are people and societies outside their world, but they do not think too hard about them.

What really got me was how the two of them agreed that they are part of the global economy, while the rubes out in flyover country are not. It is fair to say that neither of them is part of the economy at all. Writing essays for one another is economic activity of a sort, but only at the furthest edge of the leisure end. The guy riding a leaf blower around an office park is involved in the global economy. He is from another country and his tools are sourced from around the world.

This gets to the heart of the current troubles. The ruling class is stuffed to the gills with provincial mediocrities who think they are worldly sophisticates. When our betters go abroad, they go to places that are filled with the exact same people they experience in Washington, New York, or any of the elite enclaves. Look around at where these people live and work and it is always the same. Their world is an extended version of the college campus, a shelter from the reality of the rest of us.

I think this is one aspect of the managerial class that gets missed. One reason these people assume all people are the same is that in their world it is true. For the most part, race, sex, ethnicity, even class, are superficial attributes. That nice African from the sociology department has a funny accent, but otherwise he is not all that different from the Jewish guy in the anthropology department or the white woman from the psychology department with the dream catcher on her door.

There also seems to be a sense of randomness to their outlook. Hollywood stars are far Left mostly because they know they got lucky. For them, life is a lottery, and they got a winning ticket, so they assume this is how the world works in general. The mediocrities in the managerial class seem to have adopted the same view. They look around at the sameness around them, the utter lack of utility, and they think they are the beneficiaries of good fortune, which they call privilege.

This is not wrong, but it does not work as they imagine. For them, life was simply a matter of following the clearly written instructions. Almost all of these people have the same sort of background. Professional parents, private schools, elite colleges, self-actualizing career choices. All around them are people who have the same story, so why is it they get to live relatively easy lives? It must be their privilege, which they now project onto the world outside their walls.

Starter Books

In a private conversation, there was a lively back and forth about the books that new people to our politics should read. One of the hidden truths about this side of the great divide is it is a highly literate movement. People drawn to this type of politics tend to enjoy reading. Then there is the fact that our politics is not cut off from the Western intellectual tradition, which is the case for most conventional politics. As a result, we have a vast library of writing on our topics of interest.

That vastness is a problem. This side of the great divide has a lot of diversity of interests and thought. If you are drawn over by the human science, there are dozens of great books to get you started. If you are into right-wing intellectual history, you have more books and writers than you can read in a lifetime. Everyone on our side has their favorites. Many have a book or a writer they credit with their awakening. The new person can find it intimidating at first.

With that in mind, the show this week is about the books to get someone started on understanding dissident politics. These are not foundation texts or anything like that, just doorways to the sorts of topics that get discussed here. When you are a kid learning to write, you start with the big pencil and wide-ruled paper. You do not use that for the rest of your life. It is just how you get started. The books for the new person to our politics should work the same way.

The thing about the books covered in the show is they challenge the reader’s conditioning on various topics. That really is the essence of dissident politics when you stop and think about it. Because liberal democracy and the technological state cannot comport with the reality of the human condition, you are left with two choices. You can deny the reality of the human condition or question the morality and legitimacy of the prevailing orthodoxy. That is the great divide in a nutshell.

Of course, this is the sort of topic that generates endless disputes, because no two people have the same list. There is no doubt that many people will be outraged at the selection of titles in the taboo book section. Well, outraged by one of the books and what I have to say about it. At some point in the future, that will be the topic of a full show and maybe a series of posts. Again, the point here is a gentle introduction to the taboo subjects that can only be discussed on this side.

White Fragility

One of the strange things about living through a particular time is that things that define that age in the moment just seem to pop up from nothing. For example, one day two men getting married is a punchline to a joke. The next day you are in human resources signing your termination papers for mocking homosexual marriage. One day men in drag are something you recall your parents laughing at and the next day your kid’s teacher is in a frock demanding you call him “they” for some reason.

The reason these things feel like they have sprung from nowhere is most people are normal, living normal lives. They are too busy living those normal lives to look into who is plotting what over in the shadows of the managerial class. Most of us live outside the world of elite opinion, so we cannot see it evolving and embracing the latest boutique opinions to wear around like amulets. By the time we notice, the finished product has been imposed onto the culture.

That is what’s useful about looking into the people profiting from the new moral panic of whiteness and its related items, like white supremacy. Russ Travers is Mumbly Joe’s new antiwhite crusader. Before he was an antiwhite crusader, he was an anti-Muslim crusader in the now largely defunct War on Terror™. He got canned last spring as the Trump administration tried to purge these people from the system. He claims it was due to his demand to go after whites, instead of Muslims.

Of course, what was really going on is this guy was getting off the anti-Muslim bus and jumping on the anti-white bus. He saw that the former was a dying racket, but the former offered an ambitious career man like him many new opportunities. Rather than try his luck in the dreaded private sector, which is worse than death, he quickly became an evangelist against white supremacist terror. Again, yesterday the great threat was Islam and today the great threat is you. Just like that.

In reality, this antiwhite pogrom was in the works for years. You see that in the resume of Robin DiAngelo, the authoress of the book White Fragility. She started out trying to grift on the feminism stuff, but that was an overserved market, so she tried getting into the diversity rackets, but then she stumbled into the gold mine. She could be a life coach to guilty white liberals, in major corporations and government, helping them confront their white privilege and implicit racism.

Does Mx DiAngelo believe the nonsense she promotes? Probably not. Conmen believe in one thing. “You can’t cheat an honest man; never give a sucker an even break or smarten up a chump.” What she believes does not matter. It is what the chumps she is fleecing believe that matters. The managerial class, which has the money and power, believes white people are the problem, so grifters like Robin DiAngelo are there to tell them they are right. Russ Travers will protect them.

The Mailbag

One of the struggles for those on this side of the great divide is maintaining a proper perspective with regards to dissident thought versus conventional thought. Most people are not on this side of the great divide. None of the people in politics or the media know that there is a great divide. For them, the two sides are the extreme far Left and the so-called conservatives struggling to keep pace with them. Reading the mass media from our perspective can cause you to question your sanity.

There is a site called Memeorandum, which used to be popular with bloggers back when copy and paste blogging was a thing. It is an aggregator of mainstream sites that tries to set the tone of daily conversation. The cable talkers rely on it to set their agenda for the day. It is why our media feels like an echo chamber. The site is a useful reminder that our mass media is highly coordinated. These people have daily scrums to decide what to make up and they direct the rest to follow their lead.

Anyway, when you look at this site, it often seems like the bulletin board in a dayroom of a mental hospital. Yesterday, this post was featured on the site along with some others on the same topic. This one was the most amusing. There is nothing about that story based in fact. It is pure fantasy, but a fantasy being played out in real time in front of people supposedly in charge of the country. The loons running the government really think there are insurrectionists plotting a coup.

As I pointed out in the podcast extra, the January 6th protest has become the centerpiece of a weird form of security theater. When they said it was their 9/11, most people rolled their eyes at the absurdity of the claim. The people inside the wire, on the other hand, they believe it and they are acting on it. They have convinced themselves there is an invisible army of Trump supporters plotting a coup. Even the running dog lackeys on the Left are getting into it.

It is a good reminder to our side that the security theater of the Bush and Obama years was also entirely fake. Al-Qaeda and ISIS were real things in the world, but the people the FBI arrested in the US were probably just dumb guys they could frame. The police state the neocons erected was just part of the theater. This is probably a useful tool in helping people adjust to this side of the great divide. Our rulers have been corrupt and degenerate for a long time. It’s just more obvious now.

Still, the FBI rounding up a few swarthy guys once in a while and framing them for imaginary crimes was small potatoes compared to what we see now. This is the sort of thing the Soviets would have thought was too much. The government is now officially at war with half the country. It is such an insane turn of events that a normal person can be forgiven for wondering if he is really seeing what he is seeing. No one reading this imagined anything like this happening in America.

About a year ago they sent me some of their stuff. Up until that point, I had never heard of chaga, but I gave a try and it is very good. It is like a tea, but it has a milder flavor. It’s hot here in Lagos, so I’ve been drinking it cold. It is a great summer beverage.

Extra Black

We are more than halfway through Black History Month and I realized I had done nothing to celebrate the season. This week we remedy that with a whole show on blackness and its traveling partner whiteness. That is one of the things that gets missed in the rapidly evolving ethos of Jim Snow America. The concept of whiteness can only exist in the presence of non-whiteness, especially blackness. Without the juxtaposition with non-whiteness, whiteness is no longer discernable.

This is not entirely by accident. Blackness, as has been discussed here many times, is a negative identity. Black identity depends entirely on the relationship between blacks and whites, real and imagined. Everything about being black in America revolves around the black relationship with whites. Remove whites from the equation and blackness has no meaning. If whites pack up and leave, blacks will have to follow them, as whites are their reason to exist now.

This is what the anti-whites are up to with whiteness. They are seeking to make white identity a negative identity, dependent upon nonwhites. The infamous anti-white tract, White Fragility, is about defining whiteness in a negative light in objective terms, but also as something wholly dependent on nonwhites. The pogrom against white parents and their children in the New York City schools is another example. To be white is all about the relationship with nonwhites.

Unlike blackness, whiteness can have no positive connotations. Everything about being white is bad, according to our genocidal rulers. Most important to white people, the only escape from the dark cloud of whiteness is to remove all whiteness from society, which is simply a call for genocide. Since all whites are guilty at birth, the only logical solution to the whiteness problems is to kill whitey. Since many of the people preaching this are white, it makes anti-whiteness something like a suicide cult.

That is the missing piece to the puzzle. Nonwhites participate in these antiwhite pogroms for personal gain and racial vengeance. The thing is though, they would get nowhere in their efforts without whites at the top of society supporting it. In fact, the driving force behind anti-whiteness are white elites. They are not under a spell or being tricked by a historically crafty. Anti-whiteness is the logical endpoint for white people driven by self-loathing. It is the ultimate form of self-abnegation.

This week I have the usual variety of items in the now standard format. Spreaker has the full show. I am up on Google Play now, so the Android commies can take me along when out disrespecting the country. I am on iTunes, which means the Apple Nazis can listen to me on their Hitler phones. The anarchists can catch me on iHeart Radio. I am now on Deezer, for our European haters and Stitcher for the weirdos. YouTube also has the full podcast. Of course, there is a download link below.

Deep Thoughts

This is always a funny time of year. There is the long run up to the holidays that starts in November and concludes in January. In election years you have that as an added bit of excitement. Then it all comes to an end in January, the dead of winter for most of the country, and people go on a bit of break. This year the denouement came a bit late due to the fake election and fake inauguration. The entirely peaceful excitement around the fake inauguration was an added bonus to the season.

Now, we are in the dead of winter. You can see it on the streets in the parts of the country that have winter. Here in Lagos, the streets look like peak lockdown all of a sudden, in that there are few cars out during the day. It has been snowing here a bit and the schools remain closed, but it is extra quiet now. Who knows what the people are doing when not out on the roads, but the people in charge assure us everything is under control and we are all in this together. Trust science.

This dead spot in the calendar has always shown up on-line, as well. The slowest traffic month every year is February, January is pretty slow too. March is always the busiest as people seem to come back to life as we head into spring. Humans are still hardwired to the natural rhythms of our environment. Spring is the busiest time on the site, then things slack off a bit for summer, as people get out and live. It ticks up for the autumnal excitement, especially if there is an election.

This being that dull spot in the calendar, this week the show is about some more contemplative topics. One of the things that is striking is just how open the new ruling regime is about their hatred of white people. Those over the age of fifty, maybe over forty, remember when such talk was used as satire. It was ridiculous to think that white people would be treated like second class citizens. Here we are though, and most people are still struggling to process it.

Of course, the people on the other side of this transaction remain a mystery to the sorts of people attracted to right-wing politics. Right-wing people try to understand the partisan mind in the same way they understand the normal mind. They start with the assumption that the partisan is motivated by self-interest. The trouble is the partisan interprets self-interest to mean their cause. Everything they are is defined by their membership in the cause. It transcends everything, even their life.

It is a good time to think about all this stuff. The Pretender is staggering around drawing smiley faces on executive orders written by his staff. The media is waging war on imaginary insurrectionist. The health Nazis continue to play make believe over the coronavirus stuff. Otherwise, not a lot going on, so the show this week is about some of those topics. Since these topics require a little more thought and analysis than a new story, just three topics this week.

Rambling Man Vol 2

One of the weird parts of the mass media age is the constant bombardment from the firehose of mass media warps our sense of time. The Pretender Biden was installed just a couple of weeks ago, but it feels like a long time ago. It always feels like so much is happening in the moment, that what happened in the prior moment has tp be stashed in long term memory. Just as you are processing one bizarre thing from the ruling class, they are firing the next bizarre action at us.

It is a relentless succession of events, one more stranger than the next. The most powerful tool of managerial authoritarianism is constant disruption. The thing is, it is not a deliberate strategy. They are not sitting around thinking about what loony thing they can do next to create disruption. They have a need for the constant crisis. They need to feel as if life is on the knife edge at all times. it one result of the feminization of the managerial class. It is endless drama.

Still, when you take a break from the firehose and assess things, it is striking just how bizarre the word is all of a sudden. Collapse of any sort is like a man falling down a very long flight of stairs. From the top, it is a quick tumble then a long landing. That landing runs out of road and another stumble down some stairs to another landing and the process keeps repeating. You can add in a brief ascent back up to a previous landing, if you like, to account for those periods of reform and renewal.

The bizarreness comes from the lack of self-awareness. The people hiding behind the razor wire green zone in Washington never think about how this looks to the hundreds of millions on the other side. They don’t even consider it. They are like fireflies in a jar, obsessed with blinking at one another. They are oblivious to how it looks to those outside, because they are oblivious to the idea of an outside. This is probably the most remarkable change in the last few decades.

Still, the spectacle is incredible. We live in an age when a Puerto Rican barmaid and a bald black woman with the IQ of a goldfish stand on the floor of the House sharing their “lived experiences”, which are totally fabricated. Not only that, these people are our rulers or at least members of the ruling class. Things would be less ridiculous if a state put a horse in the Senate. Calling this clown world is an affront to the men who dedicated their lives to making kids laugh at the circus.
